Privacy Policy

Blitz Rugby is operated by Product Logic (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we process when you use the Blitz Rugby app and website, why we process it, and the choices you have. We aim to keep what we collect to the minimum needed to run the service.

Information we collect

We do not require an account to use Blitz Rugby. The information we process is:

• Device identifier. When you first open the app, a random identifier is generated on your device and stored locally. It is sent with each request so we can associate your favourite teams with your device. It is not linked to your name, email, or any other identity.
• Favourite teams. The list of teams you choose to follow is stored on our servers against your device identifier so it stays in sync across sessions.
• App preferences. Settings such as your appearance/theme choice are stored only on your device.
• Push notification tokens. If you enable push notifications, your operating system provides us with a token we use to deliver notifications. You can revoke this at any time in your device settings.
• Technical and usage data. Our servers automatically receive standard request information such as IP address, device type, app version, and a truncated user-agent string. We use this for security, debugging, and to keep the service reliable.

How we use information

We use the information above to provide core features (showing fixtures, leagues, teams, and remembering the teams you follow), deliver push notifications you have opted into, keep the service secure, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and understand aggregate usage so we can improve the app.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Legal basis (POPIA / GDPR)

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on the performance of the service you have requested, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Blitz Rugby, and your consent (for example, for push notifications).

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us run Blitz Rugby, under appropriate contractual safeguards. These currently include hosting and infrastructure providers and the platform operators that deliver push notifications (Apple and Google). Match and league data shown in the app is sourced from third-party data providers; their information about teams and fixtures is not your personal information. We may also disclose information where required by law.

Data retention

Favourite-team records are retained while your device continues to use the app. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and operational purposes and then deleted or aggregated. You can clear locally stored data — including your device identifier — by clearing the app's storage or reinstalling, which will reset your favourites.

Your choices and rights

You can stop following teams at any time inside the app, and you can manage notification permissions in your device settings. Subject to applicable law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) in South Africa and similar laws elsewhere, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. Because we store data against an anonymous device identifier, we may need information from your device (such as the identifier itself) to locate your records.

Children

Blitz Rugby is a general-audience sports app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

International transfers

We are based in South Africa and our service providers may process information in other countries. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for cross-border transfers.
